St Clare's are offering a unique opportunity for a SEN teacher or a teacher with experience of working with children with additional needs to run a small established SEN provision with a dedicated base, brand-new sensory cabin and a purpose-built garden for children with complex needs. The curriculum encompasses the principles of the EYFS Statutory Framework and Cherry Garden curriculum. The perfect candidate will be able to plan, use and adapt the above to meet individual needs of the children and support their integration in the mainstream classroom. The main focus will be the progression of children's life skills, especially their communication skills and personal and social development.
SEN teacher
- To lead and deliver provision in a small hub for children with additional needs, predominantly from KS1,
- To assess the needs of children, deliver the curriculum and review the progress,
- To collaborate with the SENCO, class teachers and parents to secure best outcomes for the children,
- To deploy support staff according to the needs of the children.
The right candidate will have:
- Experience in teaching in a specialised setting (school or hub),
- Knowledge of and experience in delivering attention autism programmes and strategies i.e. Attention Autism, PECS, MAKATON.
- Enthusiasm to work with children with a variety of complex needs,
- Good communication skills to collaborate with staff across the school,
- Be confident at managing the needs of children with limited communication needs.
Main pay scale with possible SEND TLR depending on experience
