We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Attendance Champion to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead our whole‑school approach to improving attendance.

Salary: Academy Pay Scale Band 8 FTE £53,071 - £60,252 (Actual starting salary £49,805 with performance-based increments available)

Working weeks:39 weeks + 4 (Term Time + inset + twilight) and Parent/Open evening asrequired

Working Hours:37 hours per week (08:00-16:00 Mon-Thurs and 08:00 - 15:30 Fri)

You will work closely with students, families, and school staff to identify barriers, foster positive relationships, and implement effective strategies that promote excellent attendance and punctuality.

As a visible and approachable presence in our school community, you'll monitor attendance patterns, provide early intervention, and champion the message that every day in school matters.

This role is essential to ensuring all pupils feel supported, engaged, and able to thrive.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Experience as a successful team leader
  • Ability to foster effective relationships with stakeholders and external agencies
  • Strong working knowledge of DfE attendance guidance, School Attendance Regulations, and statutory responsibilities
  • A strong grasp of absence data and oversight of absence data analysis
  • Experience of creatingintervention or reintegration plans in partnership with pupils and their parents/carers
