Chelmsford County High School for Girls is one of the most successful girls' selective schools in the country. This is, therefore, an ideal opportunity for a well-qualified teacher of Religious Studies to join a thriving and dynamic Department, with motivated students, dedicated staff and excellent facilities. With our growing Sixth Form and the outstanding success of the CCHS RS Department, an opportunity has arisen to join our highly experienced team and we are seeking a strong classroom practitioner, who is passionate about Religious Studies and has the ability to inspire students to success.
We are seeking to appoint a teacher with a holistic view of the subject, and with the ability to teach other Humanities subjects. You would be required to teach Religious Studies at KS3, KS4 and KS5 and to contribute to the school's Enrichment Programme.
At KS3 students follow a course inspired by the 2024 Essex agreed syllabus; at KS4 all students follow a Core RS scheme with a third of them opting for the full GCSE course. We currently follow the AQA GCSE RS syllabus, with a focus on the religions of Christianity and Buddhism. Sixth Form uptake of the subject is rising with a good number of students pursuing philosophy, ethics and theology related degrees at university. We follow the OCR A Level Religious Studies course which incorporates modules in Philosophy, Ethics and Christian Theology.
For an application pack please visit the School website www.cchs.co.uk and return completed applications to Mrs Rae Dale, HR Manager, for the attention of Mr Lawlor: HR@cchs.co.uk
