The thriving team of Building Services and Renewable Energy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Deputy Head of Department. We are one of five Colleges piloting the Just Transition Framework, embedding its principles of fairness, sustainability, and inclusion across all aspects of College life. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to this initiative.
As Deputy Head of Department, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our learners through:
• Supporting the Head of Department in all aspects of the department's leadership and management, particularly around attendance, quality, teaching, learning and assessment and securing outstanding outcomes for all learners.
• Performance manage staff within the department and ensure that they develop their professional practice.
• Lead on curriculum development, including the development and validation of new programmes and the periodic review and re-validation of existing programmes.
• Ensure that learner retention, achievement, success and progression rates within the department exceed the national average year-on-year.
Our ideal candidate will have evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs and relevant work experience in the sector to underpin subject leadership with credibility and authority.
