Finance & Office Manager
Salary: Level 8 SCP 28 to 34
Annual Salary: £31,246 to £35,989 approx.
35 hours per week: 8am to 4pm (hour lunch break)
Term Time plus 2 days at financial year end
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: January 2026
Leigh North Street Primary School is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and experienced Finance & Office Manager to oversee financial arrangements and office operations. This is a key leadership role requiring strategic thinking, financial expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills. A full job description is available.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- To oversee financial arrangements,ensuringaccuracy,complianceand value for money.
- Support Headteachers with budget reviews, projections, and monitoring.
- Attend Governing Board meetings and contribute to strategic financial planning.
- Collaborate with Business Managers to secure funding for school development.
- Financial Resource Management
- Prepare and monitor annual and three-year budgets.
- Ensure value for money and compliance with LA financial regulations.
- Maintain audit-ready records and manage income/expenditure, petty cash, and private/staff funds.
- Liaise with payroll and manage pay forms and queries.
Office Management
- Lead and manage the administration team, including performance reviews and training.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
- Coordinate school events
- Manage office budgets and administrative platforms
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in finance (School finance is desireable)
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work confidentially and manage sensitive data.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
