About the Role
To work as part of the pre-school team under the direction of the manager and Senior Practitioners. To provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting. To work as a key person to a small group of children and communicate effectively with parents about their learning and development.
Hours: 8.30am - 3.15pm
Term time only
Part Time (3-4 days a week)
About You
Essential criteria- You will have:
1. Willingness to learn.
2. Level 2 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent, and a commitment to obtaining a level 3 qualification.
3. Previous experience of working with young children.
4. Sound knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years and the EYFS
5. A commitment to creating interesting and joyful learning experiences for the children in our care and planning developmentally appropriate activities with regard to health and safety.
6. Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
7. Good communication skills.
8. Commitment to equal opportunities.
9. Commitment to working effectively with young children and families.
10. Friendly and flexible approach at work which facilitates the development of effective relationships.
11. Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Services Check and two relevant references
Desirable criteria
1. Level 3 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent.
2. Knowledge and experience of supporting children with SEND.
3. A willingness to learn about and support Forest schools and outdoor learning within the setting.
4. Willingness to undertake further training.
5. Current Paediatric First Aid qualification.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and does require a disclosure and barring records check. Applicants must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which have been made against them.
