St. Teresa's Catholic Primary School is seeking a reliable, hardworking and proactive School Caretaker to join our friendly team - 20 hours per week Monday to Friday all year round.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors.
There are opportunities for a flexible working pattern, which can be negotiated for the right candidate.
Main duties include:
- Unlocking and securing the school premises and acting as keyholder
- Ensuring cleaning and hygiene supplies are well stocked
- Liasing with contract cleaners and completing some cleaning responsibilities
- Completing a range of weekly, monthly and quarterly health and safety checks, with accurate record keeping
- Carrying out minor and general maintenance tasks around the site
- Undertaking grounds maintenance, including lawn mowing, weeding and leaf collection
- Supporting with deep cleaning tasks during school holidays (e.g. window cleaning, carpet washing)
- Managing bin and recycling collections
- Adhering to health and safety procedures and safe working practices at all times
It would be desirable if the candidate has knowledge of health and safety, Legionella awareness, working at height training and Asbestos awareness.
The successful candidate will be dependable, practical and able to take initiative, with a commitment to ensuring the school is safe, well cared for, and compliant with all statutory requirements.
