At de Vere, we believe that children with SEND are an asset not an obstacle. To support us in ensuring our whole school feel this, we are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA)to join our dedicated team, supporting pupils, some of whom have complex needs, including those with communication difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and eager to make a real difference in children's learning and development in a varied role. It is a term-time position, 21 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individual pupils and small groups across the curriculum, including delivering structured interventions.
  • Confidently lead small group and whole-class sessions under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Provide high-quality support to children with a range of complex needs, promoting independence and positive outcomes.
  • Carry out midday assistant (MDA) duties, ensuring a safe and supportive lunchtime experience.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and external professionals throughout the school to implement personalised learning plans.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children with complex needsand speech and language difficulties.
  • Be confident in leading small group activities and class sessions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and strong organisational skills.
  • Show patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to supporting learning.
  • Work well as part of a team, but also use initiative when working independently.
  • Have a sense of fun.
