Attendance & Admissions Officer
Salary: Band C Point 13 - 19
(£25,132.14 - £28,808.61 per annum)
37 hours per week
8:00am - 4:00pm Monday, Wednesday & Friday)
8:15am - 4:00pm (Tuesday & Thursday)
30-minute lunch break (unpaid)
38 weeks of the year - term time plus inset days

Thameside Primary School are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual to join their school as Support Officer, responsible for Admissions and Attendance. The role will involve, ensuring that the school is compliant with the School Admissions Code and the law relating to admissions, ensuring accurate information relating to school admissions (enquiries/visits /applications/withdrawal/starters and leavers) is available on BROMCOM, and any other systems required in line with GDPR restrictions.
In addition, the Admissions element of the role will require being responsible for organising and managing the administrative procedures relating to the accurate and secure maintenance of pupil records. It will also be necessary to work closely with the SENDCO to ensure that children with SEND or medical conditions receive the support they need when they join our school.
The core Attendance duties will include recording pupil absence accurately on BROMCOM, working closely with the Education Welfare Officer and Pastoral Team to reduce pupil absence, arranging meetings with parents/carers and completing relevant correspondence. The provision of termly reports for the Local Governing Body detailing attendance and barriers will also be required.
The ideal candidate should have:
· A good level of numeracy and literacy,
· The ability to deal sensitively with children, parents, carers and colleagues
· An understanding of the issues that may affect a pupil's ability to attend school
· A good understanding of the attendance/admissions process
· Working knowledge of BROMCOM or a similar system
