Cherry Tree Primary School has an exciting opportunity for an SEMH Assistant to join the team as soon as possible.
The hours are 8:40am to 3:15pm (including a 30 minute break), Monday to Friday - One day per week to work an additional 30 minutes (this can be either before or after school). 31 hours per week, term time (plus 5 INSET days), 39 weeks per year.
Salary Scale 5, Point 9 (Range 9-12). Actual starting salary £20,099 per annum (including paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, empathetic and resilient SEMH Assistant who has experience of working with children with special education needs, in particular SEMH.
The successful candidate will have:
· experience in developing social skills in young children with a solid understanding of issues surrounding SEMH and ASD and the challenges this brings for children
· an understanding of or be trained in therapeutic approaches
· a positive, energetic and flexible approach to the role
· good behaviour management skills
· excellent communication and organisational skills
· a passion for working with children with additional needs and be a positive and enthusiastic team player
