Canewdon C of E Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join the team as soon as possible.
The hours are 8:45am to 3:15pm Monday to Friday, (including a 30 min lunch / 15 min break). 28 hours, 45 mins per week, term time only for 38 weeks per year.
Salary Scale 3 to Scale 4 (Range 5-8) Actual Salary: £16,622 to £17,155 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).
Contract: Fixed Term Contract linked to child until 31st August 2026 (or before, if the pupil leaves our school earlier than expected).

We are looking to appoint an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant who has an understanding of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) and how to support children with routines.
We are looking for someone who:
- is an enthusiastic, hardworking, caring and dependable team member
- has experience of dealing with children with individual and complex needs and has an understanding of the caring attitude and commitment essential to such a role, and be willing to support this
- is organised and shows initiative and flexibility, be patient and understand the confidential nature of this role, as well as be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- has high expectations of the children and themselves with a passion for raising standards and attainment
- works well as part of a team and has a commitment to improving and developing their own practice
- has GCSE English and Maths at grades A-C or an equivalent qualification
- is preferably NVQ Level 3 qualified
