Job Details:

Are you passionate about helping students gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the workplace? We are looking for a dedicated Job Coach to join our team and play a vital role in preparing students for employment and supporting them into meaningful, sustainable work.

Main Purpose of the Role:

  • Support students in developing employability skills both in college and in the workplace.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and employers to ensure successful work placements and progression.
  • Monitor and review student progress, providing ongoing support and guidance
  • Play an active role in fulfilling the College's mission:

"To provide a transformative education that empowers learners and serves our community and employers."

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Establish positive working relationships with families, students, and employers.
  • Conduct interviews with students and secure suitable employment opportunities.
  • Support students into independent employment, arranging training where necessary.
  • Help employers adapt workplace environments to meet student needs.
  • Plan and implement independent travel programmes.
  • Promote health and safety awareness to students entering employment.
  • Carry out regular student assessments and provide feedback.
  • Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of students and employers.
  • Provide ongoing support for students in the workplace.

About You:
We're looking for someone who is:

  • GCSE/Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Empathy and understanding of individual student needs.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and maintain a professional appearance.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant subject.
  • SEN qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Previous experience in an educational or employability support role.
  • Experience conducting interviews and arranging paid employment.
  • Familiarity with IT systems in an educational setting.
  • Experience undertaking risk assessments for clients.

  • Ability to relate well to students and staff, balancing support and challenge to maximise achievement.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Creative and lateral thinking skills to promote campus growth and enhance learning experiences.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts professionally and ensure student welfare.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
