Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for education and people? We are seeking a dedicated HR Officer to join our vibrant school community and play a key role in supporting our staff and ensuring smooth HR operations.
Working weeks -Term time inc non pupil days + 3 weeks in the holiday. Must include 3 days at beginning of summer break and 4 days at the end
Pay Range:Scale 6 (Points 13-17)Actual starting salary £25,980.83
About the Role
As our HR Officer, you will be the first point of contact for HR matters within the school, working closely with theSenior Leadership Team, Compliance Officer and Trust HR team. You'll manage a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, absence management, payroll coordination, and staff records. You'll also line manage the HR Admin Assistant and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Lead recruitment processes and onboarding/offboarding of staff
Maintain accurate and confidential HR records
Support absence management and performance monitoring
Liaise with payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate staff payments
Attend and minute HR meetings (e.g., disciplinary, grievance, absence)
Monitor maternity/paternity leave, fixed-term contracts, and probation periods
Ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies
What We're Looking For
Experience in HR, ideally within a school or educational setting
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office
A commitment to confidentiality, equality, and safeguarding
