Site Manager

Bentley St Paul's C of E Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and practical person to join our friendly team.

Total number of hours: 15 hours per week, times to be agreed.
Total number of weeks: 52.14 weeks a year

Number of holiday days (calculated 1 April to 31 March): 25 days plus 8 bank holidays (holidays can be taken in term time subject to agreement)


Pay scale: Scale 5 (point 9 to 12) £10,992.56 to £11,520.40 (pro-rated actual annual salary) plus pension

You will need to be in good health due to the physical nature of some of the work and have a flexible approach to a variety of tasks, whilst understanding the need to prioritise workload, to ensure good risk management in a school environment.

Previous experience in a similar position would be beneficial. Qualifications or experience in a trade (electrical, plumbing, building) would also be desirable.

A general overview of Health and Safety would also be an advantage but training will be given.

You will need to be able to communicate effectively with people including children, staff, outside contractors and school governors.

The site manager's key areas of responsibility are as follows:


To contribute to the smooth running of the school by carrying out a range of caretaking duties including cleaning and maintenance, and other caretaking duties including porterage, security and supervision of the site and related equipment.


The site manager will work closely with the school's administration team, reporting to the Head Teacher and Finance manager. In addition, they will liaise with the other staff across the trust including the Trust Facilities Manager, CEO and CFOO, as well as pupils, parents, external agencies, and visitors.


The position will be based at Bentley St Paul's C of E Primary School but may also involve caretaking at other schools in the Trust upon request.
