Job Description

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will champion high quality care, compassion and student dignity. You will work closely with the class teacher to share responsibility for the academic, physical, emotional and social development and well-being of our truly unique and wonderful young people.

Working hours: 27.5 hours per week - 9.30am to 3.00pm Monday-Friday, term time only.

About you:

You will act as an ambassador for both the college and Hope Learning Community, the Trust which we are part of. You will liaise with staff within the college in order to meet the needs of the students in your class. You will promote a professional and caring image whilst championing our college values, Respect, Excellence and Friendship. You must be patient, kind, enthusiastic with a good sense of humour and a willingness to learn.

Market Field School and College has been enhancing the lives of students (and their families) with wide-ranging strengths and needs for over 40 years. We moved into a purpose built, specialist environment in 2015 and are fortunate to benefit from a suite of facilities to enrich the quality of provision for our students. With over 500 students and rising, we are one of the biggest special schools in Essex and each day is very different from the day before!

Information about the School

We provide education for students with moderate learning difficulties, including those with autistic spectrum needs, aged 16-19.
