Contract:Term time plus inset days (39 weeks) - Fixed-Term Ending 31st August 2030-Scale 3 Points 5-6 £24790 - 25183 FTE (Actual Salary £14359 - £14587)
Hours:25 hours a week (5 hours daily)
Closing Date:11th July 2025 at 12pm Midday
We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join us for 25 hours per week. The successful candidate will be committed to supporting all pupils including those with additional needs. In this role, you would be working within a fantastic, supportive and welcoming team. Applicants will need to be enthusiastic, positive and able to work on your own initiative as well as follow direction.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
Experience supporting children with complex health needs in a school or nursery setting
A strong understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) frameworks and inclusive education practices
Knowledge of relevant medical protocols, feeding plans, or mobility support strategies-and a calm, caring approach under pressure
Excellent communication skills to work effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals
The ability to build nurturing, consistent relationships with the child, promoting their independence and confidence
Adaptability, patience, and a positive, proactive attitude to help meet both educational and healthcare goals

Information about the School
Lakelands Primary School is a brand new primary school that opened in September 2020 with state of the art facilities in Stanway, Colchester. Year on year the school will grow, providing 420 places for local children between four and eleven years old by 2026. At Lakelands Primary School we are creating a new school where children can thrive and flourish and fulfil their potential.
