St. Teresa's is a wonderful school where we focus on doing little things with great love. We are thrilled to be opening our brand-new school-based nursery this September and are looking to appoint an Experienced Nursery Practitioner to help lead and shape this exciting new phase of our provision.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic early years professional to play a central role in establishing a nurturing, inspiring environment for our youngest children. The nursery will follow the Curiosity Approach, celebrating wonder, creativity, and child-led learning at its heart.
We are looking for someone who brings energy, warmth and a deep understanding of early childhood education, someone ready to make a meaningful impact as we launch this new venture.
This is a permanent, term-time only role. Core hours are 8:30am to 3:15pm. There is also the opportunity to take on additional paid hours through our breakfast and after-school wraparound care (operating from 7:30am to 6:00pm).
We are especially keen to hear from applicants able to offer extended availability to support this wider provision.
You might be the person we're looking for if you:
- Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential) - higher qualifications or relevant experience are highly desirable
- Have a strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
- Are excited by the opportunity to help design, develop and embed our new nursery class
- Embrace the Curiosity Approach to early years learning
- Are confident supporting key children, working with families, and contributing to an outstanding provision
- Are warm, professional, proactive and passionate about early childhood education
- Embrace the Catholic ethos of our school and want to contribute to a loving, faith-filled environment
We can offer:
- The rare chance to help shape a new school-based nursery from the ground up
- A welcoming, values-driven school community rooted in love, care and faith
- A team committed to curiosity, creativity, and joyful learning
- Exemplary pupil behaviour and a culture of high expectations
- Additional earning potential through wraparound care roles
- A supportive leadership team that values well-being and professional growth
At St. Teresa's, we serve a beautifully diverse school community and warmly welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences. We are committed to building a team that reflects and celebrates the diversity of our children and families.
We are committed to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Following safer recruitment procedures an appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, medical checks and enhanced DBS clearance.
Visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcome. For further details please contact the school office via e mail on personnel@st-teresas.essex.sch.uk
