This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointed staff will be DBS checked without exception.

We would like to recruit an enthusiastic, qualified teacher of the deaf who has a particular interest in the teaching of maths or language and literacy to deaf students.

You would be expected to work towards gaining a teacher of the deaf qualification.
The successful candidate will also:

show a thorough understanding of language development in deaf children
have experience of effective assessment and monitoring procedures
demonstrate a commitment to high standards of achievement by deaf children

be well organised and able to work as part of a team and independently, both in the Resource Base and in the school as a whole
have good ICT skills and an ability to maintain audiological equipment
Additionally:
BSL Level 1 is essential; BSL Level 2 and 3 are desirable and a commitment to achieve them is expected
experience of teaching English, Mathematics or KS2 (preferred but not essential)
