Are you a qualified Engineer ready for a new challenge outside of the workshop or factory floor? We're looking for someone just like you to join our Engineering team at Harlow College - with a primary focus onassessing apprenticesand working closely with engineering employers to shape the workforce of tomorrow.

In 2017, we opened our £11 million Harlow Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Centre, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to developing future engineering talent. Now, we're seeking anEngineering Assessorwho can use their industry knowledge to guide, mentor, and assess apprentices throughout their journey with us.

About the Role:

This role is ideal for engineers looking to take their first step into education. The emphasis will be on theassessor element- ensuring apprentices are progressing in line with industry expectations, conducting workplace visits, and maintaining strong links with employers.

You'll play a vital role in:

Visiting apprentices in their workplaces to carry out assessments and reviews
Ensuring apprentices are developing key skills aligned with national standards
Acting as the main point of contact between the College and employer partners
Supporting learners' progress and success from enrolment to completion
Contributing to the overall quality and compliance of the apprenticeship provision
What We're Looking For:

A background in the Engineering industry (essential)
Previous experience in mentoring, supervising or leading teams (desirable)
A passion for developing others
Strong communication and organisational skills
A flexible, positive approach and willingness to learn
You do not need a teaching qualification- if you bring the passion and experience, we'll provide full support for you to gain your assessor and teaching qualifications on the job, at no cost.
