The Role
As the Head of Resource Provision for Autism Support, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing a 12-place provision designed to support children from schools within Mid Essex.
- Developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each pupil.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a cohesive support network.
- Monitoring and evaluating the progress of pupils, ensuring that they are meeting their developmental milestones.
- Providing training and support to staff to enhance their understanding and skills in working with children with autism.
- Promoting an inclusive and positive culture that celebrates diversity and encourages all pupils to reach their full potential.
- Conducting outreach work to support children with autism in other schools within Mid Essex.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspire and lead a dedicated team of professionals to deliver exceptional support for pupils with autism.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each child's education.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies and interventions to support the learning and development of pupils with autism.
- Oversee the assessment and monitoring of pupils' progress, ensuring that their needs are met effectively.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in autism support.
- Extend support to children with autism in other schools within mid Essex through outreach initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience working with children with autism, preferably in an educational setting.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Strong understanding of autism and the strategies and interventions that support children with autism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity within the school community.
