Learning Support Assistant initially for our Early Years Reception Class
Required 1st September 2025
The post is 39 weeks - this is term time plus 5 inset days , working hours 8:40am - 3:30pm Mon - Fri (with 1hr unpaid lunch break)
29.10 paid hours per week. Scale 3. Actual Annual Gross Salary inc outer fringe£17497.92 (subject to the 2025 LG Pay Award)
Join Our Team - Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
We are looking for a caring, professional, and positive individual to join our dedicated team and support our fantastic children in their learning and development journey.
While this role is initially based in the Early Years, LSAs may be required to work across different classes throughout the school.
Our LSAs play a vital role in the life of the school, supporting both children and teachers by working with individuals and small groups. The role also includes lunchtime supervision and care, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of our pupils during the school day.

What We're Looking For:
- A high standard of English and Maths
- Someone who is friendly, adaptable, approachable, and has a good sense of humour
- Willingness to work with children aged 4-11, including those with special educational needs
- A positive attitude towards outdoor learning, whatever the weather!
- A readiness to provide intimate care if required
- Availability to attend occasional after-school training sessions (in lieu of INSET days)y

West Horndon Primary School is a welcoming, warm and friendly one form entry local authority primary school. We are located just outside Brentwood in Essex. We also have a 20 pupil Enhanced Provision for children with speech and language difficulties.
