We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Science to lead our Science Department and drive academic excellence within our successful Science department. Our Science department currently consists of 4 full-time and 1 part-time teachers.
As Head of Science, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the Science Department, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Developing and implementing an engaging and challenging curriculum that meets national standards.
- Supporting and mentoring a team of dedicated science teachers.
- Promoting a culture of high expectations and continuous professional development.
- Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise achievement.
- Collaborating with school leadership to contribute to whole-school initiatives.

Who/what is Thorpe Hall School looking for?
- A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4.
- Have proven leadership skills with experience in curriculum planning and staff management.
- Strong management and communication skills demonstrable through your present role;
- The ability to communicate a clear vision for improving standards within the department;
- A capacity for hard work and resilience; and a belief that this is at the core of success;
