Millfields Primary School is a one form entry primary school in Wivenhoe that sits within extensive grounds that provide many opportunities for outdoor learning. Our children are polite, well behaved and enjoy learning. We have a team of caring and enthusiastic staff who are committed to providing high quality learning experiences and ensuring that our children develop well socially and emotionally, as well as academically. We have recently had a long awaited Ofsted inspection, which was incredibly positive and highlighted our inclusive approach, high expectations and caring ethos.
We are looking for a practical and motivated person to join our team at Millfields for 32.5 hours per week as our Caretaker. These hours would be worked over a split shift of 7:00am -11:00am and 3:30pm-6:00pm Monday to Friday. We are very proud of our school so we are looking for someone who will care for our school, ensuring it looks its best, is safe and exemplifies the high expectations we have of our children. We are also embarking on becoming an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) school so are looking for someone who will play a key role in developing our grounds and resources that can be used to provide high quality play opportunities for our children.
The successful candidate must:
· be a hands-on individual who can develop and implement systems/procedures as well as maintain current ones
· be sympathetic to environmental concerns regarding the school and grounds
· be able to implement risk assessments and any recommendations
· contribute to projects and maintenance schedules
· be practical, with good DIY skills
· communicate well with parents, carers and members of staff, as well as pupils
· have a sense of humour
· have a good understanding of health and safety
