About the role:
The Ramsey Academy is looking for an enthusiastic food technology specialist to join our highly committed Technology Faculty. At Key Stage 3 technology operates on a carousel system. All students study a minimum of three of the following subjects: Textiles, Food, Product Design and Ceramics. At Key Stage 4, we offer: Food Preparation and Nutrition, 3D Design, Textile Design and Art, Craft and Design (Pearson). Food Preparation and Nutrition is a consistently popular option choice and resources are first class, including 2 specialist food rooms with brand-new cookers and a separate space for delivering theory lessons.
The successful candidate will be required to teach Food Technology up to and including G.C.S.E. This post is suitable for either an ECT or a more experienced teacher.

The Technology Curriculum
Our Key Stage 3 Technology curriculum operates on a carousel system, allowing all students to study a minimum of three technology subjects from the following: Textiles, Food, Product Design, and Ceramics. Students receive two lessons per fortnight in Technology, alongside two fortnightly lessons in Art and Design.
At Key Stage 4, we offer the following subjects:
Food Preparation and Nutrition (Eduqas)
3D Design (Pearson)
Textile Design (Pearson)
Art, Craft and Design (Pearson)
The faculty has two specialist food rooms equipped with brand-new cookers. One of these rooms also features a separate space for delivering theory lessons. Food Preparation and Nutrition-remains a consistently popular choice among GCSE students.
A class set of iPads and charging trolley is designated solely for use within the Technology Faculty. Computer rooms are a bookable resource easily available school wide.
Enrichment
Technology students benefit from a wide range of enrichment opportunities throughout the year, including:
Termly 'Artist in Residence' visits.
Food workshops led by local businesses.
Community projects in collaboration with the town council, churches, public gardens, parks, and local primary schools.
