1:1 Learning Support Assistant/MDA

Job Description

We are looking to appoint a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant/MDA for a named pupilto start 1st September 2025.

The role will be to support a child with a medical condition and promote our school vision (see attached). The post holder will need to be Paediatric First Aid trained or be willing to attend a suitable course. This may be organised outside of Harwich.

Working pattern is Monday to Friday 9:30am to 1:15pm.18.75hours per week (12.5 hours per week as 1:1 LSA and 6.25 hours per week as 1:1 MDA). Term-time only plus non-pupil days.

The successful candidate should have the following:

· Experience of working with, and supporting children with medical needs

· Is able to demonstrate patience, calmness and flexibility at all times

· Excellent organisation, communication and inter-personal skills

· Good standard of education: Maths and English GCSE grades A-C or equivalent

· Good knowledge of ICT

· Flexibility and a good sense of humour

· The ability to use their own initiative

· Willing to undertake training and support individual need

· Strong behaviour management skills
