Well-being and behaviour mentor
Pay Range: Local Government Scale 5 - 6 (points 9 - 17)
Term time plus one week - 30 hours per week.
Actual Salary from: £18,357- £20895 (Points 9 - 17)
Start Date: ASAP
The Role:
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic and experienced LSA or HLTA to join our team to support, inspire and engage children at Gosbecks Primary School to 'be the best you can be.'
You will need to:
- be educated to GCSE A-C (or equivalent) or above in English and Maths
- work under the direction of the Headteacher and Assistant Head, in partnership with other professionals, to support all pupils including those with SEND and/or who may be disadvantaged in line with codes of practice and school policies and procedures.
- provide a holistic knowledge of identified pupils and provide a point of contact for families.
- support pupils and provide ongoing assistance to support their inclusion in school.
- be willing to take responsibility for managing an inclusion base for part of the day.
- work with parents/carers to identify and address issues affecting their child/ren and advise parents on support available outside of school.
- liaise, where necessary, with staff and outside agencies.
- work as part of the safeguarding team as a deputy DSL.

This post is currently fixed term initially for a year, although there may be opportunity for this to be extended.
Gosbecks Primary school is a popular school located in Colchester. We have encouraging parents, established links within the community and a supportive Governing Body.
