Actual salary: £17,631.19 to £19,091.64
FTE £25,183 - £27,268. Band 3, point 6-11 depending on skills and experience

Waterman Primary School and Stambridge Primary School have an exciting opportunity for a SENDCo Assistant and Learning Mentor to join their friendly team, supporting both Rochford schools.
Children are at the HEART of all that we do. We believe that each child deserves an education that enables them to reach their potential both academically and socially.
The position will focus on providing support to the SENDCos in leading the provision of special educational needs within the schools. Applicants are expected to have experience of working with children with specific learning needs and social/emotional learning behaviours.
Applicants should hold alevel 3 in learning support or equivalent early years qualification and have achieved grade C or above in maths and English or equivalent. A SEND qualification would be desirable.
The successful applicant will:
- Have a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
- Assist in the leadership of learning support staff
- Promote the inclusion of children with SEND both within the classroom and during non-class based learning, ensuring access to learning through appropriate clarification, explanation and resources
- Support groups as directed by the SENDCo and/or Head of School
- Implement planned learning activities / teaching programmes as agreed with colleagues, adjusting activities according to pupil's response
- Support pupils with literacy and numeracy skills
- Monitor and record pupil progress
- Help children with social, welfare and health matters, including minor first aid and administration of medication

Waterman Primary School is a small, friendly school in the heart of Rochford, serving the local community. At Waterman, we provide free weekly swimming lessons to all of our children, in a newly refurbished, in-door heated on-site pool. Waterman is smaller than many other local schools and is made up of four classes - Nursery & Reception, Year 1&2, Year 3&4 and Year 5&6.
