Job Details

We're seeking a motivated Administrative Support Officer to join our dynamic College Information Services team. You'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality support across key areas, with a particular focus on bursary processing, data protection, and efficient coordination of information handling.

This is a fantastic role for someone with excellent administrative skills and a commitment to student support, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Process bursary applications, checking eligibility and liaising with students.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure policy compliance.
  • Work closely with Finance and Student Services for timely payments and reporting.
  • Assist with maintaining GDPR-compliant records and handling data requests.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer in promoting good data handling practices.
  • Provide day-to-day support to senior leaders, including scheduling and minute-taking.
  • Assist with general MIS tasks aligned with college priorities.

Job Requirements:

Essential:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Experience in administrative or customer-facing roles
  • Excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality

Desirable:

  • Experience in education or public sector environments
  • Knowledge of data protection or GDPR
  • Relevant administrative or IT qualifications
