Work pattern Monday to Friday 7.45am - 11.45am term time only (plus non pupil days and two weeks equivalent working in school holidays)

Salary Full Time Equivalent £26,409 to £27,711

Actual Salary £12.840 to £13,473 depending on experience (pending pay rise)

Hatfield Peverel Infant and Nursery School are looking to recruit a permanent, part time, dedicated, hardworking, skilled and reliable Site Manager to join our friendly staff at our two-form infant school with nursery attached.

The working pattern will be mornings only (subject to some flexibility as required to accommodate any outside contractors as needed or tasks that may need to be done out of school hours)

The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach, self-motivated, energetic and keen to work as part of the school community. They will have a good level of practical skills which will help them maintain building and ground maintenance, safe use of power tools and electrical safety. Previous experience in a similar position is desirable but not essential.

General responsibilities will include:

· Providing a safe and secure environment for pupils and staff

· Ensuring that the management and maintenance of the school building and environment are effectively undertaken (cleaning, porterage, routine maintenance and refurbishment)

· Ensuring full compliance of Fire Safety and Health and Safety procedures, undertaking specialised testing and compliance checks (where required, Asbestos and Legionella training will be given)

· Undertaking minor repairs and DIY projects both inside the school building and in the school grounds

· Delegating and supervising outside contractors, ensuring Health and Safety regulations are strictly adhered to

· Attending to out of hours emergency call outs, if required

Key Skills and Experiences:

· Practical experience in general maintenance and have a range of practical trade or DIY skills applicable to the role (for example, carpentry, plumbing, building)

· Working knowledge of Health & Safety and compliance procedures and policies

· Lettings out of school hours when required (as additional hours)

· Good reading, writing and numeracy

· Ability to follow instructions accurately but make good judgments and lead when required

· Keenness to learn and develop own skills, and take on any necessary training where required

· Good interpersonal skills

· Confidence to solicit quotations to achieve best value for site works when needed

· Effective organisational skills

· Possess an excellent attendance and time keeping record.
