We are looking for an experienced, confident and efficient Admin Assistant to cover a Maternity vacancy for the period from Mid June 2025 to end of June 2026 at St Michael's C of E (VA) Junior School.
Your role will be to provide comprehensive administrative, First Aid and front of house support service for our busy and vibrant school, as well as supporting the School Business Manager with finance administration such as being the first point of contact for dinner money and after school club.
This post is for 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (Term time, INSET days and 1 week in the summer holidays)
Your working pattern will be:
Monday to Wednesday 8.00am to 4pm, Thursday and Friday 8.15am - 4pm including of 30 minutes unpaid lunch.
Actual Pay £21,775.64 - £22,831.48 (FTE £24,790 - £25,992) depending on experience (Scale 3/4 point 5-8)
You will join a supportive team of staff and will work with friendly and caring children and parents.
This is an important position in our school and the successful candidate must have
- excellent oral and written English communication skills
- be able to work in a busy school office
- maintain positive relationships with all members of the school community at all times
- have the ability to adapt to the ever-changing priorities and demands of the school office
- maintaining high levels of accuracy
- engage positively with our parents and parent community
- manage sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
- maintain confidentiality at all times.
- be educated to a minimum of GCSE A-C or above in English & Maths
- have excellent IT skills in Word and Excel
- understand the importance and significance of safeguarding
The position is varied but the main duties include a focus on managing reception and providing an effective and efficient clerical and welfare support to the school its staff and other stake holders.
Previous experience of working within schools and an understanding of SIMS and ParentPay, or similar systems and being First Aid trained would be a distinct advantage, however training will be given.
