TEACHER OF ECONOMICS

Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale

We are seeking to appoint a high quality, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher of Economics to join our dedicated and successful Sixth Form. The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching across KS5/A Level. The economics course at A Level is usually oversubscribed and many of our students go on to study economics or business-related courses at university or gain apprenticeships in this field. You will enjoy working with our motivated, well-behaved Sixth Form students and with a supportive and hard-working team who have a proven track record in student achievement at all levels.

You will be an exceptional teacher who is passionate about ensuring the provision of a well-rounded, forward-looking and exciting curriculum for their subject. In addition, you will have the ability to provide guidance, support and collaborate with staff to develop the learning experiences for all our students.

This is a part time opportunity to work in a highly successful department and to support the phased retirement of the Head of Department. The possibility of full time hours may be considered, based on experience in other subjects.

Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential, together with a proven track record of achievement. You will need to set targets for improvement and implement effective strategies to support students of all abilities.

The FitzWimarc School is a heavily over-subscribed 11 - 18 mixed comprehensive school with an excellent reputation in the local area due to student achievements, the school's ethos and its commitment and involvement within the community.

We can offer you:

A school setting with strong standards of behaviour
CPD opportunities available to all staff
A supportive senior leadership team
A warm and welcoming working environment

The FitzWimarc School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

We reserve the right to call applicants to interview, and appoint, prior to the closing date.

Please apply using the application form on this site and return to hr@fitzwimarc.com. For further information, please visit our website www.fitzwimarc.com or contact Mrs Adshead, HR Officer at the School.

Closing date: 23 March 2025 (midnight)

Interviews: To be confirmed.
