Clerical & Welfare Assistant

Monday to Friday 37 hours, 08.30 to 16.30 (Fridays 4.00) Term time only 38 weeks plus 5 training days. Includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

Salary FTE: £24,790.00 to £25,183.00

Actual Salary: £21,252.40- £21,589.32

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Administration team at John Ray Junior School, as we seek to appoint a professional, friendly, and motivated Welfare and Clerical Assistant for our busy school. We require an individual with excellent communication, organisational and computer skills. You will provide an efficient and effective administration service to a high level of accuracy whilst remaining calm under pressure and using your own initiative. The role is busy, varied and very rewarding!

We are seeking someone who:

Is friendly, welcoming and empathic and who is willing to get to know our lovely children and their families.
Is experienced in working within a busy office environment (preferably a school).
Has strong literacy, numeracy and computer skills.
Has ideally had experience working with school MIS (Management Information Systems) - preferably Bromcom however training will be given.
Has lots of initiative and motivation. Has the ability to prioritise work under pressure and meet deadlines.
John Ray Junior is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils attending the school. As the duties of this post involve regular contact with children, any offer to the successful candidate will be conditional upon an Enhanced Disclosure being obtained via Disclosure and Barring Service.
