This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting both staff and students across a wide range of activities, ensuring that all technical aspects of our facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standard.
As a Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the technical equipment for the Performing Arts and Music departments, including audio, lighting, sound, and staging equipment. The ideal candidate will possess specialist knowledge in sound engineering, music technology, and live event production, as well as experience with relevant software and hardware.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical support during performances, rehearsals, and events, ensuring the smooth operation of sound and lighting systems
• Offering advice and practical demonstrations to students and staff on the use of technical equipment
• Ordering and managing materials and supplies necessary for technical operations
• Working closely with teaching staff to ensure technical requirements for lessons and events are met
• Contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment, working flexibly and efficiently to meet the needs of the department
• Collaborating with the Performing Arts and Music teams to coordinate and manage the production calendar, ensuring smooth scheduling and resource allocation.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a keen eye for detail. Experience in a similar role, or within the performing arts and music industries, is highly desirable. You should also be comfortable working with a range of technical equipment and software, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
If you are passionate about supporting the creative and technical needs of students and staff in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
