Our dedicated Local School Board is looking for a volunteer to join their team.

Are you looking to make a positive difference to children's lives? Do you have expertise in financial management, marketing, business or IT?

Then we would love to hear from you.

Our commitment to the United Nations Rights of the Child is at the heart of everything we do. We place learners' individuality, curiosity, and dignity at the forefront of our approach. Our aim is to prepare them for the world that awaits, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and values they need to succeed and make a positive impact.

Our governors, who are from a range of backgrounds, work closely with the school leaders, whilst the Chair also works closely with the Chair of Trustees and LSB Chairs across our trust schools. They are responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, policies and overall performance of our school.

The most important qualities for any of our governors is their commitment to the welfare and achievement of children, their selfless giving of time and their desire to make a positive contribution. As many of the duties of the governing body are statutory or have a legal framework, our governors need to be able to think strategically, challenge, monitor and provide support.

We kindly ask for your attendance at four LSB meetings a year. Preparation for meetings includes reading papers and preparing questions for senior leaders. Additionally, you will be asked to undertake a minimum of three school monitoring visits a year. The term of office is 4 years. It is an expectation that you would be willing to undertake any training required to enable you to discharge your role effectively.

Investing in our people is a key priority of the trust. We will offer you:

  • Induction programme
  • Extensive range of CPD resources and opportunities
  • Governor's portal with information and resources
  • Courteous, friendly and welcoming staff
  • Invites to school events and celebrations
  • Annual trust celebration
