Mayflower Primary School (Harwich)
PPA cover (part time)
Pay scale: According to experience
Mayflower Primary School, Harwich, is eagerly seeking to appoint a part time experienced practitioner for a minimum of 15 hours per week (5 afternoons 12.30-3.30pm) to teach classes, covering staff PPA sessions.
Ideally, we'd love someone who has a specialism or perhaps a passion for a particular subject, such as music or a Modern Foreign Language, but this is not essential.
We are a friendly 2 form entry primary school seeking an individual who can support our commitment to providing outstanding opportunities with high expectations so that all children can achieve, regardless of ability or background. We aim to develop pupils through promoting our character virtues of "AMBITION - RESILIENCE - COMMUNITY - HONESTY - INDEPENDENCE - RESPECT". The successful candidate will inspire our children and work in partnership with other colleagues to further improve standards of learning and care.
The post will involve working under the direction of class teachers, deputy and headteacher.
The ideal candidate will:
have relevant qualifications to enable whole class teaching
have at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English
have had recent experience of working in schools
have experience of supporting children with special educational needs
have a good understanding of how children learn
have outstanding behaviour management strategies
be able to work as part of a team
have excellent communication skills
be energetic, enthusiastic and have a passion for supporting children with their learning
have a sense of humour

The Mayflower Primary School is two form entry with 380 currently on role. Our school is situated in Dovercourt, Harwich. We have good links with local schools, a strong Governing Body and supportive parents. The community feel of our school is important to us.
