EYFS Senior Learning Support Assistant -The hours are 8:30-3:30, Full Time (or 4 days/week considered), Permanent, Term Time Only.

Do you like nothing more than engaging with children? Is building strong and nurturing relationships central to your practice? Are the Early Years your passion and area of expertise? Can you work within our distinctly Catholic ethos?

We are looking for a dedicated, talented and experienced EYFS practitioner to work as a Senior Teaching Assistant in our EYFS class and within our fabulous team.

We have recently developed a new EYFS classroom and outdoor area and we would like our new EYFS Senior LSA to be influential in further developing the space. In EYFS we use high-quality books to build learning topics each week and aim to develop a love of reading from day one- our candidate will share this passion for reading. We use the outdoor space year-round so experience with forest schools or outdoor learning would be desirable.

As a Senior LSA there will also be the opportunity to lead in the classroom, covering class teaching during the teachers's non-contact time. You must be flexible, adaptable with an ability to think on your feet and use your initiative. You must have patience, empathy and a positive, can-do attitude. Holistic development is embraced across the school, therefore we are looking for an individual who is able to promote the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual and social development of every child.

The successful candidate will have wide experience of working within EYFS and be able to apply their knowledge and expertise to support the class teacher in creating an engaging environment which stimulates pupils' curiosity and interests, progress and development. Early Years qualifications, NVQs and/LSA qualifications or HLTA status is desirable. A good standard of English and maths is essential. Also desirable is a First Aid qualification.

We are building a Trauma Perceptive Practice approach and place the highest value on inclusion and celebrating diversity.

We are committed to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Following safer recruitment procedures an appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, medical checks and enhanced DBS clearance.

Visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcome.

Diversity is important to us and growing a diverse team which represents and reflects our pupil population is important to us.

There is opportunity to work extended hours in our in-house breakfast club and after-school wrap around care.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
