Administrative Assistant/Receptionist

Start: ASAP

Permanent contract

35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) 8am - 4pm, term time plus 2 weeks, plus 5 inset training days.

Salary - Band 4 - Point 12-20 - Actual salary £20,394 - £24,184 (which includes fringe allowance)

Salary dependent upon experience.

The Christus Catholic Trust and the Local Governing Committee of this vibrant and successful school, wish to appoint an Office Administrator/ Receptionist to join our friendly and dedicated staff team. St Thomas' is a popular school, founded in 1886, boasting an excellent local reputation with facilities that provide an engaging working and learning environment. We are a 3 form entry school, located on an attractive site, catering for around 630 pupils from a community which embraces diversity. The suitable candidate will be:

  • Be enthusiastic, confident and able to show initiative and resilience
  • Be an effective communicator with pupils and staff
  • Be self-motivated with high expectations of self and others
  • Have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with pupils, treating them with respect and consideration.

The successful applicant would be expected to:

  • Provide administrative support to the Office Manager
  • Have good organisation and communication skills
  • Have good IT skills
  • Be an effective communicator with pupils, parents and staff
  • Have good admin skills and data entry
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems/issues for parents and teachers
  • To give first aid to students and assist with medical room duties
  • Respond to school emails
  • Understake reception duties as required
  • Ensure school security and safeguarding arrangements are complied with
  • Undertake filing and photocoping
  • Be fully supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school
