We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring individual to join our dedicated team at Market Field College, a specialist college for students aged 16-19 with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people with SEN.
In this rewarding role, the successful candidate will be a champion for life skills development, supporting young people with an MLD/ASD profile to build confidence, independence and the tools they need to navigate the world beyond college. The post holder will design and deliver engaging lessons, focusing on areas such as communication, social interaction, daily living skills, self-advocacy and emotional regulation. They will foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages self-discovery, positive relationships, and a sense of belonging.
Beyond the classroom, the successful candidate will be a dedicated form tutor for a group of students. This involves monitoring attendance, pastoral care and regular communication with parents/carers and overseeing the annual review of students' Education Health and Care plans (EHCP). In the role of form teacher, the post holder will be a crucial support system, offering guidance and encouragement within the college community.
In addition to having a strong understanding of SEN and recent experience of leading learning, the successful candidate will have a 'can do' attitude, be highly adaptable and possess some flexibility to teach across the curriculum e.g. core skills (literacy, numeracy and digital skills at entry level), RSHE, life skills, basic cookery, enrichment subjects.

The position start date is flexible; it is anticipated that the successful candidate wouldstart between the 2nd September 2024 and the 6th January 2025.
