Learning Support Assistant - The Bridge

Salary: Band B Point 7-12

(£17,563.77 - £19,100.96 per annum)

31 hours and 40 minutes per week - Monday - Friday

8:40am - 3:30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break

37 weeks of the year - term time only

Start Date: September 2024

Fixed until 31st August 2025

A new opportunity has arisen, for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our successful team supporting students in the classroom environment, to assist student learning and improve educational outcomes. Thameside Primary School are looking for an Inspiring and enthusiastic LSA who is highly motivated, creative, fun and keen to progress their career. Thameside Primary School can support people with a degree to become a teacher.

The Bridge is our in-school behaviour area when children are supported to regulate their emotions, discuss any issues they may be having inside and outside of school, take a timeout or complete work in as and when needed. Staff in The Bridge are called to classrooms, around the school and the playground to support all aged children with managing their behaviour. Staff take a trauma informed approach and use the Zones of Regulation/PACE/WIN to support our children.

We are an OFSTED rated GOOD school (Oct 2018), who are looking for dynamic and energetic team members. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate patience and show a commitment to supporting learners to improve educational outcomes. This role would be suited to someone enthusiastic, personable, empathetic and able to communicate effectively, whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, under pressure. Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential. We are looking for someone who is:

This position will involve:

· Supporting pupils, to ensure they are engaged in learning activities

· Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom

· Acting as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and promoting positive pupil behaviour, to create a safe and inclusive learning environment

· Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures about health & safety, welfare and wellbeing and safeguarding

· Providing additional support to the teachers in the classrooms, around the school and the school playground

· Developing positive relationships with the pupils in lessons being covered

The successful candidate will:

· Be passionate, creative, motivated and has a positive outlook

· Have the ability to support pupils with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties

· Be committed to raising outcomes of all students

· Be a great communicator with excellent organisational skills and a helpful attitude

· Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team

· Be dedicated to good classroom management

· Care about the welfare and achievement of every child

· Be innovative and has a passion for improvement

· Have excellent written skills with the ability to multi-task

· Have the ability to remain calm under pressure and remain positive

· Have the ability to follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise students' welfare

· Have GCSE Maths and English
