We are looking to expand our site team with an enthusiastic site assistant who has a desire to learn and be part of an important team working across our school site which is situated in 28 acres within an area of outstanding natural beauty. You will be hard working and enjoy being part of our friendly school community.
OVERVIEW
- To work as directed by the Site Manager in all aspects of site management, grounds maintenance and care.
- The role is permanent, full-time with core hours defined as Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm, with some flexibility if required.
- The role reports to the Site Manager, and through him, to the Bursar.
- Salary is commensurate with experience
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- To be part of the site team in dealing with school staff requests and completing, or assisting with, premises requests as required;
- To work as part of the site team to undertake general maintenance and grounds duties;
- To help with porterage and set up of events;
- To help with responding to helpdesk messages;
- To work in a safe and timely manner, with particular regard to Health and Safety regulations;
- Occasional 'out of hours' may be required, for which overtime is payable.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of caretaking or grounds care are not essential, but a desire to learn is important;
- A background in any combination of plumbing, gardening, carpentry or decorating skills would be an advantage;
- Able to listen carefully to instructions and carry out jobs to a high standard;
- To be able to work unsupervised as well as part of a small team;
- To be a friendly, approachable, hard-working, team player;
- To be flexible and self-motivated;
- To take pride in the role and value the ethos of the school;
- Not averse to working in inclement weather conditions Own vehicle, or reliable method of coming to and from the school and have a clean driving licence;
- IT literate e.g. can respond to helpdesk messages on a tablet.
