Job Overview:

To promote and deliver dynamic, innovative and responsive Careers Education and guidance (CEG) at the College in accordance with the College's commitment to providing a comprehensive and impartial careers service to potential and existing students, to enable them to make informed choices about the educational and career opportunities that best match their needs, abilities and aspirations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To provide a comprehensive careers service to students, offering impartial information, advice andguidance in relation to education, training and employment. This will include one to one interviews, drop in sessions, workshops, presentations and displays.
  • Plan and deliver group sessions to all client groups within the College, both 16-19 and adult students.
  • Collect, analyse and report on tracking procedures as scheduled and provide up to date management information and report.
  • Provide innovative progression and employment guidance for students.
  • Support Colle enrolment and induction procedures as required and requested by Line Manager.
  • Plan and deliver CEG programme as part of the College's tutorial programme.
  • Liaise with appropriate external agencies in order to support the delivery of CEG.
  • Ensure appropriate data is collected and analysed in relation to service delivery and outcomes in order to enable adequate timely reporting.
  • Ensure the Centre is managed efficiently and that resources are kept up to date.
  • Provide data and data analysis to support the completion of the Self-assessment Review and any other key monitoring reports.
  • Prepare high quality, accessible and engaging information and materials for students on topics such as HE applications and financial support. This will include the provision of material for the careers element of the Tutorial Programme.
  • Liaise effectively and proactively with teaching teams and key staff to ensure the dissemination of information and the effective operation of systems.
  • Engage with and utilise IT systems and communication tools in order to support the aims and objectives of the team.
  • Evening duties to include Parents, Open, Interview evenings and other out of hour's activities at Palmer's/Seevic campuses.
  • Provide guidance and training for staff as required and directed the by the Head of Work Experience and Careers
  • Maintain and support the administration of all appropriate tracking systems.
  • Liaise with external bodies such as UCAS, HE institutions, employers, partner schools and local authorities as appropriate and/or as directed by the Head of Work Experience and Careers in order to best support the needs of and offer added value to students at the College.
  • Undertake any work necessary to support applications for quality standards.
  • Attend internal and external events to provide careers advice and to promote the service.
  • Attend relevant courses and meetings in order to keep up to date with current developments in HE, employment and training.
