Teacher of Science

St John's is a co-educational Independent School for pupils aged between 2 and 16 years. We are proud of our educational provision and offer you the opportunity to join our successful school.
We are looking for a keen and experienced full-time teacher of Science to join a small, supportive department at our friendly school. The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching Science to pupils in KS3 and KS4. The post would involve teaching Science with a specialism for Physics in mixed ability/set groups to include teaching the Double Award and separate science GCSEs. We are pleased to offer small classes of pupils with very supportive parents.
The successful candidate must:
- Be a positive role model for our pupils.
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate pupils.
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner who is able to engage and inspirepupils in KS3 and KS4 to achieve success.
- Be an experienced and qualified teacher with an excellent subject knowledge, holding QTS and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Be committed practitioner who wants to attain the highest standards in teaching and learning and who expects excellence from students.
- Be an enthusiastic, collaborative and motivated individual who will teach the subject though a variety of innovative approaches.
- Be a strong team player who forms excellent relationships with staff, parents and students.
- Have Strong IT skills and an interest in developing the use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
- Be willing to become a form tutor to a group of pupils in the Senior School.

This is a full-time position, and following an induction period will become apermanent position.Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.
