ST HELENA SCHOOL
SITE ASSISTANT
Pay Range: Local Government Pay Scale 3, Point 5-6
Actual Salary from: £23,500 - £23,893
Start Date: As soon as possible
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Site Assistant to join the established Site Team. The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of duties including carrying out first line repairs and maintenance, lettings supervision, site security, porterage and some cleaning. The ability to work without supervision is essential.
This post is 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (full time) on a shift basis. Hours may be variable to suit the needs of the job and include a split shift, AM and PM working pattern.
We're looking for you if you have:
- Experience of caretaking and/or buildings maintenance and security;
- The ability to manage your own time effectively and demonstrate a flexible, proactive approach;
- Experience of Health & Safety procedures and codes of practice;
- The ability to carry out first line repairs and maintenance;
- Experience of leading a team.

Information about the School
St Helena School, part of the Sigma Trust, is a highly-regarded 11-16 co-educational Academy, recognised as Good by Ofsted in 2014 and now on a journey to Outstanding. Located on 17 acres in historic Colchester, the school has a fine blend of traditional and modern facilities and opened a £2.5m new Science block in 2015, and a £2.5m all weather pitch facility in February 2016.
