Learning Mentor
LG Scale 5 (Point 9 to 12) Actual salary: £15,611 to £16,420
Hours: 27.5 hours per week.
Term time only
We are seeking to appoint a pro-active, self-motivated and caring Learning Mentor to support pupils who experience difficulties in school; supporting those with social and emotional needs and/or special education needs to overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will form an integral part of our Inclusion team and build positive, constructive relationships with pupils within the school and their families. The post will also involve working with children in the classroom, supporting their learning and running learning interventions, under the direction of teaching staff.
The successful candidate will need to have:
- Qualifications to at least NVQ level 3 or equivalent, with GCSE (or equivalent) in both English and Maths
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be a good team player
- Be able to form a constructive rapport with pupils to enable them to engage successfully with learning
- Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs
- Possess high levels of personal integrity and an ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
