Role linked to an individual pupil with an Education Health and Care Plan
17½ hours per week (Monday - Friday 11.45am - 15.15pm)
Local Government Scale 3, Point 5 FTE £23500. 2023 pay award pending.
Are you passionate about supporting children emotionally and academically? If so, we would love you to join our team! We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work with a pupil with additional needs within our small, friendly school.
We are looking for an empathetic, confident practitioner who can:
· Supervise play/learning and check understanding of activities
· Create a careful balance of providing support and providing opportunities to work/play independently
· Provide access to visual aids and concrete learning resources to support learning
· Help express needs and wishes
· Use strategies such as core boards/Makaton signs and individual visuals
· Facilitate involvement and participation in cooperative play
· Use the TEACCH approach to support learning
· Work closely with the class teacher to ensure planning, differentiation and feedback are shared daily
· Deliver specified programmes of intervention
· Support physical transitions
· Meet changing and medical needs.
