Trustee
Salary Range: Voluntary Role
Permanent post
Required for immediate start
The King Edmund School (KES) are looking to recruit trustees to help drive continual improvement at the school following our recent Good Ofsted outcome. Trustees typically meet on specified Mondays, with a 4.00pm start time for meetings.
The school operates a continental school day (08:10am to 2:10pm) which results in an earlier start and finish for students. The school has a wide catchment area and is undergoing significant improvements with the recent demolition, and construction of close to half the school site.
As well as meeting on specific Mondays, trustees may also be asked to assist with various panel hearings that may occur, such as pay reviews, complaints and occasionally exclusions. These may take place during the school day or after. Visits to see the school in action during each term are also actively encouraged.
Much of school improvement is led by evidence and impact, having a questioning mind and willingness to ask questions is key. Previous experience of being a school trustee is not important as full training, induction and a buddy is provided.
