Learning Support Assistants

Salary: Thurrock Band A Point 1-6

(£15,579.48 - £16,742.36 per annum)

8:45am - 3:15pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday - Friday

30 hours per week

38 weeks of the year - term time plus inset days

START DATE: 1st September 2024

Fixed term until 31st August 2025

A new opportunity has arisen, for four Learning Support Assistants to join our successful team (due to an increase in pupil numbers), supporting students in the classroom environment. The role will involve working with SEND children, to assist students learning and improve educational outcomes. Bonnygate Primary School are looking for inspiring and enthusiastic LSA's who are highly motivated, creative, fun and ideally someone who is keen to progress their career. Bonnygate Primary School can also support people with a degree to become a teacher.

This position will involve:

· Supporting pupils, to ensure they are engaged in learning activities

· Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom

· Act as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and promoting positive pupil behaviour, to create a safe and inclusive learning environment

· Providing feedback to the classroom teacher on the pupil's progress against lesson plans, the conduct of the lesson and keeping pupil-related records

· Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures about health & safety, welfare and wellbeing and safeguarding

· Provide additional support to the teachers in the classrooms,

· To establish positive relationships with the pupils in lessons being covered

The successful candidate will:

· Be passionate, creative, motivated and has a positive outlook

· Be keen to support pupils with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties

· Be committed to raising outcomes of all students

· Be a great communicator with excellent organisational skills and a helpful attitude

· Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team

· Be dedicated to good classroom management

· Care about the welfare and achievement of every child

· Be innovative and has a passion for improvement

· Have excellent written skills with the ability to multi-task

· Have the ability to remain calm under pressure and remain positive

· Have the ability to follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise students' welfare

· Have achieved GCSE Maths and English at grade 4-9 or equivalent
