Wishes to appoint a

Safeguarding, Behavioural and Pastoral Manager

Salary: Band D Point 20 - 25

(£22,315.02 - £25,448.34 per annum)

Monday - Friday 8:45am - 3:15pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

30 hours per week

38 weeks per year - term time plus inset days

Start date: To be negotiated

Fixed until 31st August 2025

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to be part ofour support team. The post is ideal for individuals who place student welfare at thecenteroftheir everyday practice and whoare keento progress and develop professionally.​

Duties and responsibilities:-​

· Respond appropriately to disclosures or concerns which relate to the well-being of a child.

· To maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date documentation on all cases of safeguarding and child protection and report where required - using CPOMS

· Where required, liaise with statutory agencies and ensure they have access to all necessary information.

· Following guidance from SLT refer pupils to outside agencies and co-ordinate referrals

· On guidance from the senior leadership, DSLs attend and participate as necessary in Child Protection Conferences, CIN meetings, PASS meetings, TAF meetings and Planning and Review meetings whilst working closely with colleagues in Children's Services as required, some of which may take place out of normal working hours.

· To ensure that vulnerable pupils who are victims of abuse are supported appropriately and sensitively

· To ensure that all actions assigned to Bonnygate Primary School from planning and interventions meetings are successfully carried out and monitored

· Seeking support and guidance from outside providers to develop school provision (e.g School Nursing Team)

· To follow the school's child protection policy and procedures

· Assisting, co-ordinating and overseeing mentoring support for pupils with their social, emotional and mental health development, on an individual and group basis

· Be willing to train as a deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, and carry out the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

· Line Manager Midday Assistants, and Midday Supervisor and Pastoral LSA

· Be willing to train and carry put the function of the schools Mental Health Lead

· Building and maintaining successful relationships with pupils, whilst treating them with respect and consideration

· Listening to and helping learners resolve a range of issues that are creating barriers to learning

· Drawing up agreed action plans with learners, outlining the aims of the mentoring and monitoring their progress

· Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports and evaluations

· Supporting and developing pupil behaviour through the implementation of positive behaviour management strategies

· Lead and support colleagues in managing and improving pupil behaviour

· Lead and support colleagues in meeting pupils' social and emotional needs

· Supporting families in managing and improving children's behaviour and in meeting children's social and emotional needs

· Administer First Aid and carry out all linked duties such as, record keeping, adding to care plans, using approved risk assessments and liaising with parents/carers

· To be confident and consistent in safe handling techniques

· At the Headteacher's discretion, attend outside activities related to the role.
