Catering Manager required ASAP
Term time only
Level 6 (SCP 13 to 20)
6:40am to 1:30pm daily (20-minute unpaid break included)
Closing date 12th June 2024
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Manager to join our established Catering Team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and preferably someone who has experience working in a busy kitchen environment, to join and lead our established team and manage the development of our catering operation. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of a range of creative food concepts for the menu and service as well as cooking on a large scale for pupils and staff.
To be successful for this position you must be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of practical cooking in a large-scale environment.
This role is hands-on and the emphasis will be producing an imaginative food offer whilst ensuring that the food compliments the schools' healthy school objectives.
Candidates must be motivated and have a passion for quality, coupled with the highest standards in food production, presentation, and service. You must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of catering legislation, have budget management experience and good IT skills. You must have supervisory experience and be able to demonstrate good leadership and motivational skills. Effective communication skills with an emphasis on customer care are essential, as is the ability to work and lead as part of a team.
We need someone who is flexible, patient, a team player, can work at a fast pace and remain calm under pressure.
The successful candidate should:
· Be able to manage and lead a small Catering Team
· Supervise the preparation, cooking and serving of healthy school meals
· Provide excellent customer service
· Be able to place orders, complete food safety records and monthly stock counts.
