Evening Assistant Caretaker - Lettings
Salary: Band B Point 7 - 12
(£16,513.51 - £17,958.78 actual salary per annum)
25 hours per week
Monday - Friday, 5:00pm - 9:00pm, Saturday - 5 hours to be worked flexibly
52.14 weeks per year
Start Date: September 2024

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, pro-active, and hardworking Evening Assistant Caretaker - Lettings, to join our school as part of the site team and contribute to the safety, appearance and upkeep of the school. The role is for 25 hours per week, with flexibility around the Saturday hours and the potential for increased hours as our lettings expand.
The successful candidate will be involved in the after-school lettings, be the point of contact for the hirers and resolving any issues that may arise. They will also be responsible for locking the school site at the end of the day, and will also undertake general caretaking duties including cleaning, maintenance and security of the site and will work under the direction of our Site Manager.
The successful candidates will need to have:
· Enthusiasm for maintaining a school environment to a high standard to support children's learning.
· The ability to use your own initiative, be able to prioritise your workload and work effectively as part of a team that looks after the safety and welfare of the site.
· Good DIY skills.
· A physical fitness to undertake some heavy lifting, moving, and handling.
· A willingness to participate in training and development.
Thames Park Secondary School opened in September 2020 in Thurrock and moved to our state of the art facilities in 2022 in north Grays. Thames Park Secondary Schoolaims to provide an outstanding education for all its students. Our school was judged to be "good" in all areas by Ofsted. The report states that "Pupils are proud of their school" and "In lessons, they show commitment to learning and work hard".The report states that "The positive ethos at the school is valued and pupils contribute towards this in the way they behave and the way in which they take on positions of leadership", at Thames Park, students "capably take responsibility to lead". The report goes on to describe how Thames Park has "a positive learning atmosphere" and how "pupils conduct themselves maturely".The report also states that "Staff enable pupils to consider and discuss the personal issues faced in adult life".
Due to increasing student numbers, Thames Park Secondary School is on a journey of improvement and is seeking to appoint additional staff. We are a school which is firmly rooted in serving our community.
